The Bioreactor

Yesterday during the leisure time, I tried to sketch the major ampullate gland of adult C. lyoni that previously I isolated and characterized. The gland matched the one sketch reported by Prakash (1992) as large globe with tail. However, when I observed under the stereo microscope, the gland somehow consists of the tail, the sac (ampulla) and the spinning duct, encapsulated in white tissue layer. It is obviously the same like typical major ampullate silk gland. It is quite a discovery. Well, at least, my drawing skill is not that bad hehe.
