The GM Arthropod Close to Spidey

Today, I want to share with you a major breakthrough in genetic modification of arthropod research. A group of scientists from University of Wisconsin, USA have successfully modified the gene controlling the leg development in Opiliones or commonly known as Daddylong Legs. They are not the real 'daddy long leg spiders' to where Lyoni belongs to instead a relative to spider. They have extremely long legs and look like a giant crab!. The experiment has created genetically modified Opiliones with shorter legs! This is truly an inspiration for me to continue with my PhD project although I am already at the verge of giving up...Hmmmm... Crossing fingers to creating my CRISPR Lyoni soon!
