Cross Species @Transgenesis in Spider?

 Hello folks,

Today I am going to talk about cross species genetics in spider. Well, first we need to understand what the term is about. Cross-species genetics, also known as interspecies genetics or transgenics, involves the transfer of genetic material from one species to another. This process typically involves the introduction of genes from one organism into the genome of another organism that is not sexually compatible or would not naturally breed with the first organism. So, basically, cross-species genetics is another word for transgenesis...What is actually the purpose of this blend? The most vital aim is to confer specific traits or characteristics from one species onto another for use in various application like agriculture, medicine and scientific research. It does not confer you guys with super powers ok! Of course, before we conduct such experiment, ethical and environmental concerns need to be taken in consideration because we do not want unintended horizontal transfer of the gene into the ecosystems that may cause disruption or chaos to the environment.

Now, the next question, is cross-species ever recorded in spiders before? Well, up to now, there are no reports or studies about this but from my point of view, cross breed may naturally occur in spider in the wild perhaps via accidental event but the probability is relative low. Why? Because in tarantulas, cross-species is possible in captivity. Numerous breeders have successfully generated several hybrids of tarantula, check this website ( https://spideradvisor.com/can-you-cross-breed-tarantulas/). The hybrid does produce viable eggs and once fertilized, hatched into normal spiders only that they are hybrid. These hybrids just look like either one of their parents, no prominent mixture of traits observed. Although not recommended to do so because hybrids usually have low rate of surviving,  should you be doing the cross-species in tarantula, it must be of the same sub-species.

In lyoni, I did try to cross breed with a Lyoni female and male Physocylus sp, but it ended up with the cannibalism of the male to the female hahaha. It was a total failure! Perhaps I need to try with a very very very close sub-species like the ones they tried on tarantula~~~
