Irradiation Effect Finally Showed Up~~
Hello guys, Today, I want to share the update on the spiderlings irradiated with gamma ray. After two weeks of irradiation and continuous feeding, the effect finally showed up. But, it was a detrimental one. Almost 80% of the them exhibited the same mutation in which the two frontal legs suddenly became non-functional. The limb started to tweak and ultimately detached from the cephalothorax or maybe the spider itself decapitated the non-funtional legs from its body. Only one or two showed the 2nd leg anomaly. Some of these affected spiderlings died and some of them did survive with 6 or 7 legs. I wonder what mutation has occurred in their leg that led to this. Nevertheless, I am still hoping the remaining normal spider could thrive until the next molt but so far, they are thriving well but they should have molted to the next stage by far. I just hope their growth would not be affected too much by the irradiation. Crossing fingers to this~~
